I love winter. I love snow, I love scarves, I love hats, I love cuddling up with a blanket in front of a fire. Apple cider? Yes please! Snowboarding in fresh powder? Obviously! This post is a little tribute to winter, featuring a photo shoot I did last year. It took place in Tahoe, and my good friends are the models. We snowboarded, played board games in a cabin, drank wine and hot chocolate (separately of course, that would just be gross), and had an all around good time. Cheers to winter!

Fun with Photoshop
This photo is really two photos combined. The original of the couple didn't have the best backdrop, so I threw them into a photo taken about 20 min later. The background is actually a close up of potted lavender, so my question is....does it look believable?! I wanted it to look like they were standing in a field. I feel like it looks sort of "Gone with the Windish". Have I just been staring at this for too long?! I think it might be time to step away from the computer.....

San Francisco City Hall Wedding
The city hall in San Francisco is such a gorgeous building, it almost makes it enjoyable to do horrible tasks such as changing your name an all of your business licensing forms. (I did that immediately following this wedding) I love city hall weddings because they are so casual and personal. And...just look at the our city hall?! So beautiful.
I had the pleasure of second shooting with Rebecca Wilkoswki for Mary and Jeff's super casual wedding (in case you can't tell by the shoes!) with a few close friends cheering them on for the ceremony. They were both pretty camera shy, but I think we got some good ones despite that! Congrats Mary and Jeff!

Meteor Shower
I was soooo excited about the meteor shower a few weeks ago. I had never seen one, and somehow got it in my head that it would be like natural occurring fireworks . I'm sad to say, it was nothing like that. In fact, I saw 1 meteor, then waited, waited, and then....fell asleep. And started snoring, and only awoke to hear all my friends laughing at me. BUT, the good news is, it was a beautiful night. We hiked up to a hill in the Marin headlands, laid out a blanket, popped open some wine, and hung out under the stars. Here is one of the long exposure pictures I took from that night. Sadly, no meteor shower shooting across the frame like I had hoped, and the stars aren't even that impressive, but I like it nonetheless.

Diana Camera
I got this camera months ago, and I just realized I have yet to use up the entire roll of film. I used to love shooting film, but something about the instant gratification of digital, and the ease of having digital files, slowing won me over. I have made it my goal to shoot a few frames per photo shoot I do with the Diana camera. It entirely plastic, and is known for having crazy light leaks and other quirks. Which makes the results unpredictable, and all that much more fun and original. Plus....it has the same name as I do....so I pretty much need to use it...right?!

Maternity Shoot
I photographed Lisa & Mike's wedding last May, and Lisa contacted me this summer to let me know they are having a little boy! I shot their maternity photos at various spots around the Outer Richmond in SF. Some at my place, the park, and finishing up on the beach. Here are a few of my favorites!
I just love the light on the coast in Northern California......
Here are some photos from their wedding last year, it was "Gone with the Wind" themed!
